SONY CT780 - Replacement Sub-woofer

Hi, I've recently been given a Sony HTCT780 soundbar but it didn't come with the Sub-woofer , it packed in  Can anyone advise me on a replacement ?  Can i buy any Sony wireless sub or does it have to match the soundbar model ? Can i buy a none Sony replacement ? Any advice appreciated .. Cheers Angus

Hi there

The subwoofer model number required is: SA-WCT780 problem is that you csnnot purchase this subwoofer or any other compatible subwoofer on its own.  They are packaged as a whole unit/set.

You should be able to use the soundbar in a 2.0 setup.

Would a sub from another model work , CT180 for example ?

I have absolutely no idea im afraid.  You could contact Sony Support - but i would probably guess that they give the stock answer of that only the right subwoofer will work....

The only advice i can really give is to compair the two devices specification in the support manuals.

Keep in mind in any case that inside the subwoofer of Sony soundbars is the main controller of the soundbar itself.... so it's like changing the whole system
