My XZ1 Compact has been freezing or restarting / reboot itself since a few days, if I use whatsapp or make a call by re-dial, not always but very often. Yesterday during using whatsapp, whatsapp freezes and i tried a restard it took nearly 10 minutes restarting phone.
Today i started a call via re-dialing from call history, my phone restarts from alone.
Does anyone has the same problems ?
Got my first reboot today. phone was completely still, i was not playing with it
My first xz1c (that i had to give it back) also rebooted once.
weird...
maybe android 8.1 should be pushed faster...
Yep many times, sometimes while I was playing games, made my efforts of an hour into dust... Sometimes making phone calls. The least stable software for Sony phone I've used in recent years.

Problems with Oreo are many, but because sony does not allow you to go back to the previous version ....? softweare is bad and unstable and nobody will announce when they will correct the provleme.
Yep, now cannot make/answer calls properly, alarm clock doesn't ring sometimes, camera app force quiting sometimes. It is almost a faulty product. I am confident to say we are not the only ones, look at these customers complaints on Carphone warehouse... I know that is software issue, but it doesn't matter until Sony solve it.
I am so glad I'm not alone! I bought a XZ1 earlier this month, and moved my info across, seemed ok but every so often it would freeze... it happened across a few different apps, but I couldn't really replicate it with any success. Until I started using voice search. Pretty much almost every time I use this, it just stops responding and then a minute or so later, the phone reboots - Very frustrating. I also had some weirdness when making calls (call waiting style beeping on some calls when there was no call waiting), and also issues connecting with the jack to hook up to the car for music. I took it into Vodfone and they hooked it up to diagnostics, but every test they ran it crashed and rebooted the phone. So as it was within 30 days, they replaced the phone with another XZ1... so far, ok (only 2 days in), but it still crashes when using voice search and reboots... so I'm wondering if this is more of an Oreo issue and I just need to wait for updates?
Do you all use the Gboard keyboard?
I have the same issue with my XZ1 Compact where it would restart when it freezes, other occasions I would get that message when an app is unresponsive so I can close it or wait for it. The reboot seems like a countermeasure for these freeze issues just like my old Xperia Z2 when it shuts down if it got overheated. The issue is why do these apps freeze and become unresponsive all the time (I have purchased and started using mine on 29th of October, literally just four days ago) and most likely for my case is when I use Google assistant voice commands and features. I'd say "ok google" to have it unlock my phone and call someone but it doesn't resopnd or unlock my phone so I turn google assistant manually and press the home button to enter a voice command and that's when it freezes and restart. After restart I tried to do all this again but it worked just fine after the reboot. I'll try to do the repair software someone suggested on Xperia companion and will post again if issue is resolved.
Based on my observations, there is a very high chance of causing it with Google apps, especially Google assistant, and Chrome sometimes.
It's especially most often when you use any voice features. It occured today as well when whatsapp froze as I tried to send a voice note and then it rebooted. After reboot voice note worked fine.
I get several reboots every day but only while at work connected to the WiFi there. WiFi at home causes no problems. My workaround is to disable WiFi when at work. I've gotten no reboots when WiFi is off.
