when is the update comming?

come on man give us the 2.1 now stop testing our limits se ................why are u doing it to ur customers the service centers dont no anything bout it and u dont tell us anything ............................................................what do we have to do its been 7 months since the launch of x 10 but still no 2.1 u gota be ashamed bout it

well by the look of things i feel that most users are finding it hard to believe that SE has emiited some of the features that the basic phones of today have like radio .....which even nokia's basic phones have but i believe that SE is going to update it by the 3 week of september and most of the features can be added by a further update to  add such features

Yeah I have to say I am stunned.

I have a Mini, but read about the big momma X10. So I compared the 2 Mins and the momma on SE and stunned to see the amount of basic features missing.

So they plan on selling more Android phones than any other? Well...I hope they're scouring these forums for good tips!!! Nah, that is a part of the idea with this forum; isn't it? The companies like to see what we think, and take SOME things on board? I don't think that's wishful; I think it is a part of the design. Now I'm no fairy Godmother, I don't promise they'll listen to all that's said here but...some of it.

the Mini have some features missing as well, but Rachel's owners suffer the most out of all these. But do understand that a good number of manufacturers are removing radio from their handsets, because some idiots have been telling them radio is dead.

Strange coverage of the X10 Mini on Engaget - see http://www.engadget.com/2010/08/27/entelligence-when-less-beats-moore/. By the way, before anyone goes "flame on" I suspect that the crack about "and may never get updated to the latest and greatest" is referring to Gingerbread.

More encouraging is the following extract from a posting on the SE blogs: "I hope to be able to get back with more information around the planned XPERIA updates soon!" (Rikard Skogberg, SE Product Manager) - from http://blogs.sonyericsson.com/products/2010/09/06/sustainable-phones/. Yes I apprecitate that it's a bit strange to find X10 comment on a blog posting about "sustainability", but as is usual at the moment, X10 owners appear to be taking any, and every, opportunity to remind SE that these firmware updates are needed.

I have become really engrossed in this update debate, and lack of response from SE.  With this in mind I did a lot of searching for Android 2.1.  here is what I have found so far:

Perhaps this will explain why it is taking so long to release the update, Cooliris is very impressive.  SE may/will merge Timescape and Facebook into it seamlessly for the X10 user.  Those are my words.

SE have said a number of times that 2.1 will be rolled out from this month onwards, so not sure what else they can say on that.

Cooliris does indeed look VERY pretty.  Has there been any official suggestion from SE that it might be incorporated when we move to 2.1?

Engadget's news and articles are not always accurate, but more speculative.

As for the SE blogs, unless they announced it officially, nothing is official and are all hear-say.

Wooooaaahh.... Eye candy!! WOAH!!!............

Now... where were we? Right, with or without cooliris (please knock some sense into them), the update is now in a state of necessary requirement to be released on time. Else SE will lose even old loyal customers. From the point of view of a marketer, that's a major failure.
