C902 - Unable to send text messages

my brother recently gave me his old C902 which he got unlocked for me so i could use o2

i plugged the phone into the computer and my computer said that the software for the phone could not be installed so i updated my PC suite and downloaded the update service and installed all updates for the phone

now i am unable to send texts

i can receive texts and phone calls and also phone other people but when i try to send a text, it sits in the outbox for hours

does anyone know how i can resolve this problem?

Check that you have the correct service centre number for your network in your text message settings.

how do i check that?

i looked on the troubleshooting section of the website and it told me to go to Menu-->Messaging-->Settings--> Text Messages

however there is no text messages option under settings

also how do i know what the correct service center number is?

According to your manual there is (just as you described it) and under text message scroll down to service number.If this number is missing you can get it from your network.

well there is no option for that anywhere

if i go to Menu-->Messaging-->Settings

the options are:

Message Alert

Save to

Categories

Validity period

Delivery report

Signature

Creation mode

Picture resolution

Auto download

Accept messages

Voicemail number

Subscriptions

Reception

Language

Cell Information

Allow push msg

right you seem to have missed the point

i have looked at the manual and i have seen that that is where it tells me to go

however, there is no option for that on my phone

do you have any other suggestions?

i seem to have found the answer to my own question

the manual was telling me to look in the wrong place for the service center number

it was actually under the Menu-->Settings-->Connectivity-->Message Settings

apparently the service center number is correct

and i did a manual network selection, that didn't work
