My battery is DEAD :-(

Hi, i think battery in my FE21S is dead. battery is VGP-BPS2C 11.1V/5200mAh.

I;m using thic laptop 10 months and I dont know why it's not working. When i unplug laptop from power he just turned off. Can anyone know how long is warranty for battery in vaio?? And mayby why it's not working??

did this problem start happening recently or was it from quite a while back?

you might want to try to clean the metal contacts on the battery and also on the laptop

Hi, you can try download Notebook Hardware Control from http://www.pbus-167.com/ and check on the tab called Battery what is current capacity. It can ascertain you where lies the problem.

I try to put this battery to diffrent vaio and it wasn't working. I also have Notebook Hardware Control and he can't see battery status and nothing about battery. Its start 2 days ago.

Battery is also dead on my laptop too FE21S! Maybe its a battery fault!! Should be a recall :angry: :angry:

I think it would take consideratly more than 2 cases for a recall, maybe there is a driver fault or whatever supports the battery, it might take a system recovery to determine this. Either that or the batteries supplied with your model have a poor capacity retention.

Hello,

I have the same issue with my laptop and my laptop version is SZ1XPC. My battery was working perfectly fine for all these days and suddenly from last 2 days, my battery seems to be dead. When I unplug the power source, my laptop doesn't get power on.

Can someone help me or link me to the correct source?

Hello,

I had the same problem around two weeks before. The battery just stop working. I both called the call center and open a case on the e-support vaio link. The first one told me it was 3 months warranty but then on the e-support they told me it has been changed and it is now 6 months.

So I phoned again and we verify few things online, if the battery was present, if with the power cable it was working... It was very quick and after that, I had two choices :

- receive a new battery and send it back (faster but the problem can be on the laptop)
- taht vaio comme and take the laptop but it's longer.

I choose the first solution on friday afternoon. I t was said to me that I would receive the new battery in the middle of the week and I had it on monday.

They might ask you to test the batterie on another laptop or two test another battery on your laptop. If not possible, the French vaio link customer service offer you the two choices I described.

I read on that forum a few people who had problem but for me it was ok event if I had to call a second time because the first person told me bullshit. However, I wasn't happy that just before 6 months, the battery crashed.

I hope this will help you and that in your country the warranty is the same as in France.
