Apps deleted after update to 5.1

Am I the only one to have some of my apps deleted after the update as well as many of my short cuts missing.?

After a major update it's normal that the shortcuts are gone, as for the apps, you have to redownload them, if you are backing up your account with Google the you usually get your aoos redownloaded automatically

Must be a problem with that then as it's never happened before. Checked and I have backup to Google on in Backup and restore. Is there anything else I can do. Just had a similar problem with widgets disappearing after a restart!

Sorry to hear that.

Are the apps and widgets missing apps you have moved to an external SD card?

If widgets are missing after a restart i recommend that you move that to the phones internal storage if it's stored on an SD card. You can do that from Settings -> Apps -> [the app].

I did move alot of apps to my sd card recently. Could that be the cause of all of it?

It's hard to say for sure i'm afraid but it's a possible cause. Do you still see these apps under Settings ->  Apps -> On SD card?

If widgets are missing after a restart this can be that they have been moved to the SD card. Not all apps works properly when they're moved to an external SD.

To be honest there's so many apps affected it's hard to tell. Figure next time I shall just take pics of all screens so I can atleast see what's what (did it before updating tablet, same happened). As the only thing I've changed are apps location reckon it's probably that. May have to remove some to make room on internal storage. Thanks anyway. Your help was much appreciated.

I understand that it might be hard to say.

One way of finding the apps you've had installed is to open Google Play and in the left side menu, select "My apps" and then tap the tab "ALL". There you can find all apps you've downloaded using your Google account so you don't need to search for them.

Already knew that but thanks anyway. I've been meaning to do a bit of housekeeping on my phone so this has forced the issue.
