XZ1 compact Freezes or restarts / reboot itself

My XZ1 Compact has been freezing or restarting / reboot itself since a few days, if I use whatsapp or make a call by re-dial, not always but very often. Yesterday during using whatsapp, whatsapp freezes and i tried a restard it took nearly 10 minutes restarting phone.

Today i started a call via re-dialing from call history, my phone restarts from alone.

Does anyone has the same problems ?

Haven't had a restart or had the device fall over and freeze for nearly a week now, and I'm convinced it's Oreo related and not the phones hardware.

I've disabled OK Google and Smart Lock, I've uninstalled the Bluetooth timer/trigger apps that just wouldn't work consistently and left Bluetooth permanently enabled (the battery use is only a few percent on the day) and the phone has been faultless. It connects to my car quickly every time and doesn't reboot on disconnection as it was doing often before. Google has some work to do!

Exactly, I expected the same since I put my phone on safe-mode and it worked perfectly and realized the Google detection was off in safe mode so keeping it off fixed my freeze and reboot issue. So it's definitely a software issue, Oreo being the newest android update so it's safe to assume it's lacking.

I think i found another solution

When you have a new phone never did a factory reset.

1. Download every update, i dont mean google playstore apps, i mean Firmware upgrades + security updates. whats new and xparia updates.

2. be sure you have downloaded and installed every update

3. then do a Factory reset on your XZ1 / xz1 compact

4. after reset configure it again

For me no chrashes , no freezes, no reboots since "3 days", since i set a factory reset after all updates

my buildnumber is 47.1.a.2.374

Have tried that after a week or two the freezes and reboots come back 😢. I nearly sent the phone back the first week I had it but I did a update and full software reset using the sony software and I thought that had sorted it but unfortunately not 😕

As posted over on the main XZ1 forum here, this happens on my XZ1 Compact almost daily.  Anyone else?  Could someone from Sony support comment on whether this issue is currently being investigated?

For mee no reboot since i set it to factory reset after all updates, it looks like stable since 4 days, only two app crashes.

No freezes or reboots for a week, then without any changes I've now had 4 reboots in 2 days - come on Sony let's have a bit of feedback on this issue please!

All the time, esp with OK google, not that it works, phone crashes every day, have latest software restarted, connected to PC companion, all of that, no joy, need Sony to keep addressing these issues fast as it should be a great phone...

Any of you connected to a WiFi with LEAP/PEAP 802.1x authentication when the reboot happens? This is typically a WiFi that requires username and password instead of a key. My phone only seems to reboot when connected to that kind of WiFi. Specifically this network: https://www.eduroam.org/
