Does anyone know when we are getting Google assistant in the UK?

Hi anyone knows why don't have Google assistant on my Xperia XZ? 

I have a UK unlocked  phone running Android 7.1.1

Did a full reset after the update but still no Google assistant on it. 

My old Xperia X had it a month ago....

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. Sure, if I change settings to US English it will work... but I shouldn't have to do that. This is still Sony's flagship...

My understanding is that this is a staged rollout from the google servers, as such it should have nothing to do with whether this is a Sony flagship.

I have found that if you do not want to wait (I didn't) that you can force the shift to Assistant by changing the phone language to English (US) and clearing all data in the Google App. After a reset opening the Google App by pressing and holding the Home key should lead to assistant starting.

You can then change the language back to your preference.

Unforunately you will have to retrain the voice model but that is just saying "OK Google" three times.

I start in English the assistant works, I change back to Russian it is cut down. Why explain this?
