This topic has an "accepted solution" but I'm not so sure...
I am a LONG time Xperia user, I've had basically every phone from the X10 forward. I have thus run almost all firmware family lines including "Concept for Xperia" on my Z3.
I am VERY picky with my apps and I use the same apps on all my devices.
I bought Xperia X performance about two weeks ago, and I must say that the battery performance on this device is the worst in many years from Sony.
I use the exact same apps as on my other devices, and compared to e.g Xperia Z3 which left me with 50-70% battery at the end of the day, the Xperia X Performance is considerably worse at 5-30%
E.g. right now I have 28% battery left, last charge was 14 hours ago, and screen on time is 1hr 49min
The battery of the Xperia X Performance is about 15% smaller than Xperia Z3, but end usage result difference is much larger.
I check the battery usage every day and I don't see anything unusual from an app point-of-view; only apps that I have actually used are listed and they are not showing unreasonable amounts of drain.
The top cosumer on my phone is Android System with 2hr 3min of CPU time and 9hr 39min (!) of wakelock time.
Firmware 35.0.A.1.238
Sorry for the long post
TL;DR I find the battery performance of Xperia X Performance to be below my expectations and I hope that it is a firmware flaw that can be fixed in the next update.
That is not the solution. On my X performance, once turn on the Stamina mode, the Android OS keep consume the most of the battery in the phone, even more than the screen. Weird is that when I turn off the stamina, it will return to normal.
I tried many things from the past 2 weeks. Even I factory reset the phone (without install any apps) and with the stamina mode on, the Android OS will use a lot of battery. Later I found that the reason of the Android OS use a lot of battery is because it send out a lot of data in background which keep the phonw awake.
You can see from 25th July to today, it use 97.91MB for the Android OS.
On last Saturday 23rd, I took my phone to Sony for check and they said they flash the rom again to the phone. Then I get my phone back on 25th night time. After I use for a few days and the problem comes again.
So I was wondering what happen to the Stamina mode...If I use it, I will use data for something unknow. It is a very frustrate situation...What should I do even I took back to Sony for repair but still fail...Anyone has similar issue?
Hi TOTOTELU,
Do you have the same problem like me? Which is the Android OS use a lot of the battery?
During the last 2-3 weeks, I keep sending back the phone to Sony mobile for flashing the rom and on the last Saturday, they change a new motherboard for my XP to me. But unfortunately, I still have the same problem.
If you are the same problem as me before, so waiting for a month will be the only solution. Please share with me.
Thanks a lot!
Hello everyone
it has been 3 weeks now with my new X Performance.
Its a great phone considering all its features.
Although I think that the battery life could have been much better...a lot ..lot ..lot better..
i cannot get a full day backup..i have to keep my phone continuously in Stamina mode..
thats how i get 15hrs(max) battery backup without playing games or using mobile data or wifi...
though I understand that this is the initial stages & Sony must be collecting usage information via background data...
and will create updates to fix this, I seroiusly hope this to happen soon...
Today is exactly one month after I bought my X Performance (bought on 13 July), I still think the battery performance is worse than Xperia Z3. If I don't use the phone much during the day at work (only during toilet visits), no music playing, etc, and then some instagram/facebook/web during the evening, I am still at 30% when I go to bed which is just not even comparable to Xperia Z3, which could easily have 70% during work days.

Hi Patrick,
I also suffer this problem on before, I think you need to reset your device to solve the data issue problem.
I have this problem as well, and the "Solution" doesn't work for me. It got worse after the last update.
Anyone else still experiencing this?
