Warranty and a non-Sony magnetic cable.

The Sony service denies fixing my tablet, citing the cause of problem, the non-Sony magnetic cable as the faulter.

Ive been using the magnetic cable on my Z1 phone for almost 2 years now with no issues. I dont understand how the cable can mess up the Tablet.

Are they legally valid not to repair my device free of charge (its within the warranty period) ?
