Vaio Update wont install 'Vaio Care Recovery Updater'

Hi

I have only had my Vaio laptop 2 weeks.

However, I cannot create recovery disks as when I try to create them, It says first I must oinstall the Vaio Care Recovery software.

When I attempt to run Vaio update, it shows the 'Vaio Care Recovery' as an automatic update, but when I try to update it, it says fails and says 'please wait and try again later'

I have waited and tried several times now to no avail.

Thanks for the information. Is this the operating system that was preinstalled or have you upgraded?

It is upgraded from Home to Ultimate

This may be why you have a problem. I am sure that you are aware that Sony only support the original operating system.I will see whether I can get further advice for you.

There have been a few recent changes on the Support site with relation to Vaio Care Recovery update. The direct link for your model is now:

Hopefully this new file (EP0000321150.exe) will install for you….

I tried to install the update you recommended for kollikoukku but got the message:-

‘You are installing an incorrect version of VAIO Care Recovery for your system. Please use Care Recovery for Windows 8.1 64bit version.’


In the days that I have spent trying to set up the computer for my wife, I have installed 99 Windows updates and among them was the opportunity to update from Win 8 to Win 8.1. I therefore need the Win 8.1 update.

Hi David,

It may just be that you are trying to install an update that is not intended for your model. Did you try the direct download that I posted in your other thread?

Your model requires EP0000321308.exe while kollikoukku’s model uses EP0000321150.exe

The update is listed under Windows 8.1 but this doesn’t mean that it will not work for Windows 8.
