Old Sony VAIO - display shows for 1 second when I press display off button

VAIO boots up and connects to internet - but black screen unless I keep pressing Display Off button - then it displays screen for 1 second - tried hdmi to external monitor and that displays normally

Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hey @algentl 

I believe this is a hardware fault and you'll need to send it to a repair centre
