Having linked up my media receiver via WLAN to the vaio and stored 100s of CDs on the Vaio, the music interface seems to render the whole set-up unusable:
1. It would quicker to get the actual CD and insert it into a CD player than to navigate the playlists: The albums are listed alphabetically and there's no quick way to get to the one I want to play. It takes forever to scroll past the first page or two one album at a time - and worse if I 'show playlist' rather than playing I go right back to the start even if I then want to play it.
2. There seems to be no way to set up favourites - either from the TV or the PC itself - that are accessible via the TV.
3. The tracks in the albums (even though I encoded with m3u playlist) are sorted alphabetically! Why would anyone want this - how do I get the receiver to list mp3 tracks in the right order?
So all that kit and impressive hardware seems useless to me because of a poor interface - unless I'm missing something.
Where can I find out how to make it work properly? I am assuming there is no alternative but to use the built-in media receiver software with Sonicstage?
Many thanks.
