C510 Battery/update problem

Hi I am new here. My C510 recently stopped working and as i was away from home i couldnt charge the battery. I got home to charge it, but it displayed the error, "Battery cannot be charged. You must use a sony ericsson charger," I have tried using different chargers and batteries, both of which have cost me some money. I also read to update my phone software, but I cant even get on the phone as the battery is dead let alone update the software. Please any idea on what to do? Any help would be much appreciated! Thanks!

If you could charge the battery in another phone or something like that and then run the Update Service.

Connect it up to your PC via USB: If it doesn't charge through the connection, is not recognised by the PC and is unusable with and without the PC, contact SE.
