Hi,
I have recently began to experience a problem with my player. While watching BR movies the sound drops every now and again and to be honest is becoming an irritation. I just wondered if anyone had any solutions to this problem or if anyone had been experiencing the same thing?

I have also had this issue the last few days whilst watching television through the sound system. I note on the support page for this model there is an issue although I checked and mine does not fit the criterea Sony have listed. My system is less than 3 months old so I guess I will be phoning to check out this issue. Suggest you also do the same.
Marathon Man - check your HDMI cable (assume you're using HDMI ARC to get sound from TV to BDV) - I had exact problem as you - fixed with a replacement cable from Amazon (at no charge to me).

Doesn't solve the problem from the BR Disc I'm afraid, unless there's something really strange going on.

Really appreciate your help, will ring Sony and complain about it and if they cant solve it will demand a new system
