RDR-HXD995 poor quality recording

My recorder has recently started  producing very poor quality recordings. Use it as a tuner with ordinary TV and picture fine. Plays DVDs fine so aerial and scart must be ok. Must be the way it records -very 'pixelly'. Any ideas why please?

Maybe you changed the REC mode setup of the system. Default quality is SP and by pressing the button REC MODE on the remote you will go down to all the step till the lower possible, than it restart with the higher level (top is HQ).

By pressing only once you can see which is the actual one you recorder is using, if it is not SP press it till you got it. (recording format is also shown in the title list menu for each recording)
