BDP-S470 MKV and exFAT problem

I have an BDP-S470 Blu-ray player.

When I'm trying to play MKV movie, the player writes that "The file is corrupt or UNSUPPORTED".
Data from the first film:
Codec: H264, MPEG4 AVC (part10) (avc1)
Resolution: 1280x780
Frame rate: 23.976215
no problem

The second film details:
Codec: H264, MPEG4 AVC (part10) (avc1)
Resolution: 1920x1072
Frame rate: 25
"The file is corrupt or UNSUPPORTED"

Data from the third film:
Codec: H264, MPEG4 AVC (part10) (avc1)
Resolution: 1280x720
Frame rate: 23.976215
"The file is corrupt or UNSUPPORTED"

Does anybody have ideas?

Have you tried changing the file extension to .avi>? Have heard this sometimes works..

I've tried .avi and .m2st extensions, but none of them were good.

With Windows 7 can not be FAT32 format only exFAT ...

Hi the supported formats for USB playback are as follows

MP4 (AVC/H.264) 1440x1080/30p, 1280x720/30p, 640x480/30p

AVCHD 1920 or 1440x 1080i

DivX HT standard 720x576

MPEG 640x480, 320x240

MPEG 2-PS 720x480

The file allocation has to be fat/fat32  NTFS and exFax are not supported on the bluray players however this has been added to the new Netplayer

Mira el profile del archivo MKV con MEDIAINFO y sube el reporte aquí. Seguramente los archivos MKV tengan el profile HIGH@5.1 o 5.0. El reproductor SONY BDP-S470 admite hasta un profile HIGH@4.1 o inferior. No superior.

Tengo muchos MKV y todos OK a excepción de los archivos que tienen un profile superior a 4.1. En estos casos uso TSmuxer para pasar el archivo H264 a profile High@4.1. Después con MKV Mergue vuelvo a empaquetarlo y todo OK.

OK, thanks Frank, I'll try even with the help of google translator. A month ago I bought the Sony BDP-S470. I read a lot about playing MKV (H264). Not all players and this happens with Sony support a higher profile to High@4.1. Many files are MKV High@5.0, 5.1, etc and in these cases the Sony is not going to play. Currently I have lots of MKV files and all I can play OK.

What I recommend is to use MediaInfo program to see MKV file characteristics. There we see the profile of the MKV file. If High@4.1 or less no problem, all OK. If it is higher then we modify it's easy. How? With these three programs:

1) MKV Extract

2) tsMuxer

3) MKV Mergui.

1) With extreme MKV Extract audio tracks and subtitles of MKV. Recall that MKV is a container.

2) With tsmux load the MKV and select the video option 4.1, look in google, there are many pages you have explained, it is easy. After DEMUX mark and keep our h264 file.

3) With repackage Mergui MKV video files (now in High@4.1) with audio and subtitles.

In this way the SONY will read the file without problems. I do well and all OK.

One thing, if in step 3 to complete the new MKV audio lags, set to MediaInfo if the original MKV file reads:

Frame rate: 25fps

Original frame rate: 23.976 fps

If the original MKV file out MediaInfo of this, in step 3 you have to select 25fps for the video file instead of 23.976 fps.

OK, gracias Frank, lo intentaré aunque sea con la ayuda del traductor de google. Hace un mes que compré el Sony BDP-S470. He leido mucho sobre la reproducción de archivos MKV (H264). No todos los reproductores y esto ocurre con el Sony admiten un profile superior a High@4.1. Muchos archivos MKV están en High@5.0, 5.1, etc y en estos casos el Sony no los va a reproducir. Actualmente tengo muchos archivos MKV y todos los puedo reproducir OK.

Lo que recomiendo es usar el programa MEDIAINFO para ver las características del archivo MKV. Ahí podremos ver el profile del archivo MKV. Si es High@4.1 o inferior no hay problema, todo OK. Si es superior entonces debemos modificarlo que es fácil. ¿Cómo? Con estos tres programas:

1) MKV Extract

2) TsMuxer

3) MKV Mergui.

1) Con MKV Extract extreamos las pistas de audio y subtítulos del MKV. Recordemos que MKV es un contenedor.

2) Con TSMuxer cargamos el MKV y en la opción de vídeo seleccionamos 4.1, mirar en google, hay muchas páginas donde lo explican, es fácil. Después marcamos DEMUX y guardamos nuestro archivo h264.

3) Con MKV Mergui volvemos a empaquetar los archivos de video (ahora en High@4.1) con los audios y subtítulos.

De esta manera el SONY leerá sin problemas el archivo. Yo lo hago así y todo OK.

Una cosa, si en el paso 3 al terminar, el audio del nuevo MKV se desfasa, fijaros con MEDIAINFO si el archivo MKV original pone:

Velocidad de cuadro: 25fps

Velocidad de cuadro original: 23,976fps

Si en el archivo MEDIAINFO del MKV original sale eso, en el paso 3 teneis que seleccionar 25fps para el archivo del video en lugar de 23,976fps.

Thank jajimne82 for your advice . The outstanding issues I face as follows :

1/ The FAT32 system is limited at 4GB file size and 137GB HDD capacity whereas the most of MKV files is over 4.5GB . How to manage this issue ?

2/ Do you have idea to upgrade firmware of BDP-S470 for recognizing NTFS system instead of FATxx ?

1) MKV files that weigh more than 4GB I do the following: Option A) I cut them with MERGE MKV so you can split them by size (less than 4GB) or duration. In this way I can have them in the HDD FAT32. The process is simple and fast and looks good. Option B) I have recently bought a Bluray burner and some MKV movies recorded directly on the Bluray disk.

2) Currently, there is no update to support NTFS. I have sent several emails to Sony support and they have responded that at present there is no such update.

1) Los archivos MKV que pesan mas de 4GB hago lo siguiente: Opcion A) Yo los recorto con MKV MERGE de manera que puedes partirlos por tamaño (menos de 4GB) o duración. De esta manera yo puedo tenerlos en el HDD FAT32. El proceso es sencillo y rapido y queda muy bien. Opcion B) Recientemente, me he comprado una grabadora de Bluray y algunas películas MKV las grabo directamente en disco Bluray.

2) Actualmente, no existe actualización con soporte para NTFS. Yo he enviado varios email al soporte de Sony y ellos han respondido que por el momento no hay tal actualización.
