Hi Folks, Before I start I'm a novice with IT etc, so be gentle with me.
I've just bought the above smart tv and want to connect a Becool bbc2 pro box (Streaming) and my Talktalk you view box but no matter how I connect I lose something. If I connect tv directly to aerial I can only get subscription channels via my Talktalk box and I can't record either, if I put aerial through Talktalk box I can't get any channels via tv so have to have Talktalk box on all the time.
I've been advised to drop you view epg and go back to Sony guide but I can't find out how to.
Any help would be great as Sony support seems very poor with very little in manuels.
Thanks in advance.

Hi @spotbot1. If you want to control everything with one remote then you should consider buying a universal remote like a Harmony. To repeat you must have your TalkTalk box left on Standby for the aerial to pass through. Aerial connected to TalTalk box aerial in, aerial out to aerial in on your TV. If the signal is not passing through your TalkTalk box then it could be faulty. It has nothing to do with your Sony TV. You could also consider an aerial splitter which may need to be powered if you have a weak signal then you can leave your TalkTalk box off.
Hi spotbot1,
Welcome to the Sony Community.
Have you had a look through the Sony website with regards your TV model? There are some useful Video and Tutorials which should be of some help.
Please let us know how it goes.
Thanks,
Sean Mc
I have search Sony and YT and various other sites for a solution but they all show older type tv's with on/off buttons on tv, nothing that relates to my 2017 model. Surely I can't be the first person to want to add more than 1 external source? I need a diagram that shows connections to and from aerial, tv, You view box, Becool bb2 Pro and ethernet so I can use a minimum number of remotes. Cheers Sean for trying to help but at presnt nothing is relevant.
I think you must mean the Mecool BB2 Pro TV box?
This can be connected via a high speed HDMI cable to any HDMI port on the TV, I think, to give 4K. Though if its spec, which you will have in more detail, includes HDR or HDCP2.2, you will need to ensure you are using an HDMI port on the TV that supports these, or you won’t get them.
The TalkTalk YouView box can go via a high speed HDMI cable to any other HDMI port.
in both cases, I would keep the ARC HDMI port on the TV free for any soundbar you have, or might get in the future, though.
The Mecool and the TV should both work over WiFi, but you will need an Ethernet connection for the TalkTalk box.
For the Aerial situation, go from the wall to the TalkTalk box with your current aerial cable. You will also need to buy, or find in your bits box, a male to female aerial cable (or a male to male cable and a female to female coupler), which goes from the Antenna Out on the TalkTalk box to the Aerial In on the Sony TV.
After tuning, you can then use the broadcast channels on either the TalkTalk or the Sony TV, as you desire.
You will need to leave the TalkTalk box at least in Standby for this to work, but it does not need to be actually switched On. Look for a setting in the TalkTalk box’s Settings for Aerial Passthrough or Aerial,Loopthrough, and make sure this is set to On, or Yes, or a similar positive setting.
Switching to the Sony Freeview interface instead of the YouView interface on the TV would not make a blind bit of difference to what you need to do, which is as I describe above.
But those who want to use the Sony’s satellite tuners, or want to record to HDD from the TV, would need to make the switch.
i don’t think either of those things applies to you (though ICBW). But if they do, details of how to switch interfaces is in the FAQ at the top of these forum postings.
