So , after I got my "repaired" phone , I found that the blackness on my phone has mostly gone. And, the answer I recieved was, screen might differ from each an other, and my request on the screen blackness level can not be adjust through the setting.
(The answer I get was the blackness level disappearance is due to the new screen, and the color range is within the quality level).
I got a really sad customer experience as there are no dialog between me (the customer) and the maintance center. If I was told that the blackness might be gone as a consequence, I would rather have the black crush, than no details on the black crush area anymore. Also, now my screen have "black smear".
All I wish, is to find a solution to the problem, and if the problem couldn't be fixed, than at least I sould have the decision to choose whether or not to risk to lose the details.
It is like you brought a pair of headphone, and you wish the sound on the high tone sound clear, and ulitimately you lost the high tone as a "fix".
My final words, I would like to share this experience to all Xperia 5 / 1 user, I would you would be prepared what the result might be. At least I have given you my experience, and whether to take the risk or not, that's your choice. Also, this might ultimately be a software problem where hardware couldn't fix (maybe , or just maybe there are slight different between every screen).
This would have a better experience if I know what is the result might be. All I wanted, is to get the best out of the product I brought, that's all. If there are dialog in between, the result might be different. Sometimes the customer are not asking for a perfect phone, but at least the flaws are told beforehand.
Thanks you reading this post, great bless to everyone and hope the same thing will not happen to another user. Anyway, I still my the Xperia 5 even for the flaw it has. It a phone with great idea, and I know that this will ultimately become a big trend, just like I was right about samsung galaxy note, I brought it right away when it release, and I was right.
Original After message : learning about the issue for more than a week , I finally decided to post the issue.
Firstly , if you are viewing this picture through a lower resolution screen , you might not be able to see the problem within the black color area.
The problem with my Xperia 5 screen , when viewing videos or movies with a part of black area that (I believe having lighter and darker black) , will result in having huge contrast , where you can see the pixel popping up like shown in the picture.
Finally , I went to my local store in Hong Kong to check out the demo phones in the Sony Store , and I find that the demo phone does not suffer from this issue.
I will send my phone to get a repair and hope the issue will be fixed today.
For anyone who is going to purchase this phone , please check on this issue first as you will face the problem sooner or later.
I feel sorry for myself and anyone who have the same issue and are neglected as this is a true issue.
Thank you.
I had the same problem, got my screen changed
A little update after I got the phone.
I think the black crush might be due to software problem, and after I got the phone, I found that all the black level on the phone is gone.
So maybe the phone black level is reduced to cover up the same problem.
Actually if the problem is not fixable through hardware, I would rather have a normal phone than without all the black level now.
