Data connection is lost during call

Hi,

I have noticed that when I'm in a call, the data-connection to the phone is completely gone. So I can't use any sort of data-requiring service during the call. After hanging up, the data is brought back again. This doesn't happen every time I shall add.

The data symbols in the notification field are also disappearing, and re-appearing along with the above behavior.

I can also add that I use the SBH-20 bluetooth headset if that can affect anything.

Do you have any suggestions of what could be wrong?

Hi and welcome to the community! Since you're new please be sure that you have checked out our Discussion guidelines.

This is probably because you only have coverage for one kind of network in the current area (as you say, it doesn't happen all the time).

To be able to both call and access Internet at the same time you need two different networks to be available in your area GSM and 3G (WCDMA).

Thanks for you answer, but I'm not so sure. Because when I have ended the call, I watch the status bar,

there I can see:

1) First:Nothing

2) then E

3) 3G

4) 4G

Plus that i have full bars on the GSM Indicator.

So my feeling is that I have full coverage.

Actually this will work while only on 3G network as well.

So check if you're able to both call and surf the web is you set the phone to only run on 3G (WCDMA).

Settings > More.. > Mobile networks > Network mode.

If it doesn't work you may want to try using another SIM card or check with your network operator.

Hi Johan,

Now we have tried making calls with my friend's LG G2 and he has got the same behavior. So probably this is an Android-thing or perhaps network operator, because we have the same operator (Halebop in Sweden). Strange, and foremost bad, because Halebop is the same network as Telia, which I thought would be top notch.

Well well, seems like nothing to do here, just accept the fact. Will try to investigate further with other operators.

Hi Dear,

Actually in GSM while calling data doesn't support,notice one thing while you are in 3G and 4G service You are able to use data while call but when you are in 2G it doesn't happens.

just a drawback of 2G service ,so when you want to use data while call ,used that in 3G and 4G technology
