Fingerprint sensor stopped working

I have a sony xz1 for about a month now and the fingerprint sensor just stopped working, any ideea if this is a software issue, does anyone else have a similar problem?  or have an ideea of what I could try next?

I have tried restarting it, going in safe mode nothing worked. Since there is no test for it by default, I have tried to add a new fingerprint but it doesnt read any signal.

if it's another hardware problem then I'm done with sony in the last couple of years I've bought a Z3 and  Z3 compact  for me and my wife and both had problems with screens popping off. A sony XA which I use for work and it just goes wild when typing sometimes and last month I got 2 XZ1 one for me and one for the miss. Her phone had to be returned due to fact that the microphone was not working

Did you recently updated the phone? have you repaired the phone with XC?
