X10 won't start after using an App Killer

I used an application killer and killed a lot of apps some of which I wasn't sure what they were for. I've also configured app killer for "Auto Kill". Whilst I was doing this X10 lost its power. After that it just wouldn't turn on. I can feel the vibration when I press the power button and it feels as if it is switching on but the screen is always blank. I've tried taking the battery out and putting back in and then reseting by holding down the right and left silver buttons and power button all at the same time, but this didn't work either.

Any suggestions would greatly appreciated.

I wonder if doing a repair via Sony Ericsson Update Service will help.  You need to make sure that your battery is at least half full before you do it.  The repair will wipe your phone and basically factory reset it.  Hopefully you have your contacts backed up or synced so you won't lose them.  And don't bother with the task killer, the system should run itself pretty well without killing all sorts!

take the micro SD card out and see if it starts then.

Some of the task killers seem to write to that card as well - especially if it to create a boot schedule/log. If that is corrupt it could be causing you problems.

As for task kilers, IMHO they are best avoided like the plague. You may not want a task running in the background but the phone robably does (or did) in your case. Let the operating system decide which programs are not needed

The second golden rule (isn't hindsight a wonderful thing?) is never mess about with system settings whils you are using the phone on battery

Many thanks. Update Service worked fine and solved the problem.
