ram?

I still don't get how the phone handles applications. Some that I have installed and use ( Xscope for example) have an Exit function leading me to believe that I have exited the app after use and it is no longer running in the background, using valuable resources. How about other apps...are they all running in the background? In the course of the day, I am running most of the apps on this thing, should I be concerned?

The android system is supposed to be very efficient at running its system resources so I wouldn't be overly worried unless you get the low ram warning, which I think is more a problem with the mini's or the X10's on AT&T in the USA.  I have loads of apps that I nip in and out of, probably more times than most when I am answering queries on the Xperia family forums both here and on AndroidForums and the phone seems to cope fine.   I used to use a task killer but having read about the issue I decided to stop using it and haven't really had a problem.
