This may be a dumb question, but when am I using up my data with the X10? how do I know when it is being used? and is there a way to turn it off and back on?

You can download data monitor apps that keep an eye on it for you - I use 3g Watchdog free from the market.  The only thing you need to know is your refresh date with your carrier as this is often different from your call minutes/texts refresh date.  Mine is the start of the month, so you set the programme up to when it refreshes what data limit you have etc and it keeps a track on what you have used.  You can start mid month and manually set in how much you have used to date so then it keeps a record until the refresh date.

You can turn off your data in Menu>Settings>Wireless Controls>Mobile Networks and un tick MMS & Data.  You can also download an app to allow you to toggle data on and off, just have a search under data on the market.  I use an app called Quick Settings, again free from the market and it lets you do lots of stuff without having to troll through lots of menus, one being turning mobile data on and off.
