I tried using my smartphone to listen to music but the headphones would'nt work at all. After doing a factory reset to no avail i decided to try a app called "Headphone Toggle". With headphone toggle all the headphones i tried were working again. But even with Headphone Toggle i still can't use the shortwave radio app because it does'nt recognize my headphones. Now i have not used my phone to listen to music since some new update was installed. But i know that before said update everything worked fine. Is there anyway to get an answer to wether or not the hardware is still working properly?
Help would be very appreciated.
Hi @Volpox, welcome to the Forum, I'm so sorry to hear about that.
It's hard to say for sure if it's hard- or software related before we troubleshoot, could you do that for me? For example, instead of a factory reset, could you perform a software repair using Xperia Companion? This will not only delete all data from the device as a factory reset does, but will also install fresh software. Once you've done the repair, try to see if your headphones connect without installing any apps/services or restoring any backups - use a fresh install and see what happens.
In addition, could you try to see if the same behaviour occurs using different headphones? If it's consistent with a fresh install across different headphones, then I'm sorry to say but it sounds like it likely is hardware related.
If so, I strongly recommend having the device sent to an authorized service center in order to have the device examined in order to pinpoint the cause, and repaired if necessary. The easiest way to have the device sent to service is to get in touch with your Local support and ask them to assist you, since they are well informed regarding local service routines and warranty terms for your market.
Keep me updated!
Thank you. I will try reinstalling the system software with the program you mentioned.
That sounds like a good idea, let me know how it went!
