I have a new sony tablet SGPT111/GB but cannot connect to internet with Netgear wireless router despite strong connection and my laptop connecting with no problems. I have tried pressing the rest button; rechecked correct network key, but it just alternates its status as scanning or authenticating and never connects. Sony and Sky have been no help- can someone out there help me please? ps know nothing about tablets/ internet terminology, so reply as if talking to an idiot!

Thanks but I took it back to shop and they couldnt get it to work either so now have a new one. Hoping that one works- if not I will be back!

It may seem that you are being ignored but we are experiencing forum problems at present so posting can be difficult at times.
I’m new to the Sony Tablet also so not sure whether I can help, but have you run a Wi-Fi connection check?
To do this click Apps in the right hand corner and scroll down to to and click Wi-Fi checker. On the screen that opens click ‘Test’.
This should give an indication of exactly where the connection is failing and then someone may be able to offer further advice.
