How do I close running apps?

Hello All,

Yesterday I bought this tablet s from john lewis. I opened up quite a few apps and could view from that multi tasking panel but couldnt find a way to close each app. I went into setting and then selected manage appilications, but nothing happens.

Could you please guide?

got it. its in the settingS menu . I must be blind not to look at it the first  time around

As you have found, you can force close them.

Some will automatically close after a certain period of time if they are not run again and some instantly close when you exit so it will vary. Either way, I rarely force close apps and find there has been no lag or additional drain on battery.

There are task killers available but for Honeycomb, they are not really needed.
