WLAN speed problem

Hello,
I've recently installed a wlan router for my VGN-FS215E.
Now I've got the problem, that I always start with 54MBits/s but soon it drops down to 1MBits/s . Then I have to turn off/on the wlan and I can start again with 54MBits/s.
With the LAN I have no problem.
What should I change to get a continious high speed of the wlan.
