Video driver for PCG-K115B

Video driver for PCG-K115B

Having just bought the above laptop, I have been trying to play a dvd..... choosing one of the many players installed, i.e. windows media player, I get told that the video driver is missing....
Attempts to use the restore disc have failed, downloading the drivers from vaio-link have failed (thanks for keep booting me Tiscali!) Any one help? Sorry to say I am a bit of a novice, so please be gentle with me!

No problem and glad to have helped

what made you change from a MAC to a PC?

Glad it's all sorted.

I haven't totally gone over to PCs, my Imac is getting a bit worn out and will soon need updating and as I am planning a new business and will hopefully be doing a lot of travelling, I thought it a good idea to get a laptop.

Why not a Ibook or Powerbook? Well, I am also designing my own website on the Imac and it's always handy to be able to see what the site looks like on a PC, as it does appear differently.

This together with the fact that a lot of commonly used programs (well Microsoft ones, anyway) are designed to work fully on a PC rather than a Mac and that I wanted a workhorse rather than a thing of beauty!

Maybe I am wrong but, I think, for everyday work, PCs are more convenient to use. For more creative work the Mac is superb. Not to mention the fact that my Imac is loaded with Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, Quark, etc...

So even if the Imac was to die, I would replace it with another Mac, I think once you have used one and got to know it, you just fall in love with the logic of the thing! I suppose it also has a cult thing going on and me being me, I like to be different!

Is the same thing true of Vaios? Is there a similar cult thing here? It seems to me, a newbie, that there a few people here who seem to dislike some things about them (or the company), but wouldn't be without one!

Anyway, thanks again guys, no doubt I will return when I can't figure something else out.

I totally agree, the Mac is a designer's tool - but the PC is an every day office tool.

They can work together.

Hope your enjoy your VAIO.
