Hello,
Can anyone help please? Yesterday my Vaio laptop started the process of upgrading Windows upon shutdown. The installation appeared normal and the laptop shut down. When I tried to start my laptop it was completely dead. So eventually I unplugged it, took the battery out, put my finger on the start button for 30 seconds and then plugged the laptop in. It immediately booted in quick web access and wouldn't do anything else. When I closed down web access the computer would not restart until I unpluged it and pluged it back in, in which case it immediately booted into quick web access.
I tried pressing the power button and F10 simultaneously while plugging power back in and briefly saw a black page displaying the Vaio logo so I kept shutting it down, unplugging it and plugging it back in with the F10 and start button already pressed. Eventually it started and completed installing Windows update.
It appeared normal so I shut it down to put the battery back in. It immediately started in quick web access again and refused to bootup once I had shut down quick web access. So I had to take the battery out again and repeat the plugging it in with power button and f10 pressed, unplugging when it didn't work and eventually it rebooted.
Any ideas what's wrong with it and how to fix it? - I think I can safely say this was caused by the latest Windows update. My laptop is a Vaio VPCSE2C5E.
Thanks
Annette

Hi Annette,
Welcome to our community!
I guess it could be that the update didn't go through successfully. Would you let us know the operating system your VAIO is currently on? Also, Is the laptop able to boot up now to the Windows page at all?
Cheers,
