Hi all.
I am looking for some parts for my old sony 3d laptop. I need a wi-fi card antenna /cable which goes from the card out to the top of the screen, and i also need the bluetooth part plus the cable. Any ideas where i could purchase these items?
Also, my 3d button on top of laptop doesn't light up anymore when switched on, a box appears saying, "cannot switch to 3D display". I have to launch the bluray player and activate the 3d from there, then the button lights up. This was never the case from day one. Button always lit up. I have no clue about software, so any help would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
Hi Marino,
Do you have to format the new ssd, before transferring the old ssd to that? I have tried a couple of hard drive caddies/enclosures, and the laptop doesn't seem to be picking it up. I get the sound that the ssd has connected to laptop, but nothing is popping up on the screen. Will try again later. I hate software. Lol.
Thanks again for your help. Much appreciated. Cheers.
No, I didn't Format the new disk ... Put in the Caddy, connected and selected as a destination.
That's great help thanks. Problem i have now, i can't connect up the caddy/enclosure to the laptop. It's making a noise but not showing up on screen. Does it matter if the enclosure is a 2.0? I'd say that's what it is. My ssd is a samsung 850 pro. What type of enclosure should i have for this ssd? Thanks as always Marino. Cheers.
Maybe the Cable is damaged? A noise seems like a problem.
I didn't explain that right. Well it's not a clicking as such, it's just a noise the laptop makes when you plug something in, but usually it will show up on the screen. Cable is fine, i use that all the time for other enclosure just like this, and never has an issues. Could the new ssd be dead? Lol.
But from Disk Management the SSD is detected by the System even if not formatted? And the Program (Aomei Backupper) can select it for cloning? Otherwise, if seen from Disk Management, try to format it anyway.
I agree with Marino, if the laptop is detecting the SSD, but you aren't able to locate it, it's most likely to do with either the cable or the SSD needs formatting or might be defective. If you happen to have another laptop/PC lying around you can easily clear that up.
Hi Joe,
Well the laptop is making that noise, when you plug something into the usb port, but i can't see anything on the screen. Will try doing what Marino said, and see what happens. Don't think the cable is bad, or the caddy, because i have other hard drives inside in them, and they work away fine, so hopefully it's not the new ssd, because i bought that about 12 months ago, and never checked it out, because i only built the new 3d laptop lately, so was only starting to use it now. Iike i said before, all this software stuff is all too confusing for me, but i like the hardware side of things though. Lol. Thank you also for your help. Cheers.
Hi Marino,
I'll try that and see what happens. Like i was saying, not good with this whole software stuff. Another question, the hard drive i'm going to clone from, the free space on that ssd, is larger than the new ssd i'm cloning to, so what do i have to do in this case? Cheers.
No problem for cloning, I've cloned my old Sagate HDD from 500 GB to an Intel 240 GB SSD...
