Sony Duo Pointing Device problem

Anyone having problems getting the built in pointing device to work on a Sony Duo Model:SVS1121Z9EB?

Mine has stopped responding after having the machine for two weeks!

I have just had the same problem today, was fine yesterday. Has anyone else had this and how did you solve it?

Just solved my problem by doing a hard power reset. Pressing the power button for more than 4 seconds until the machine beeped and shut down. Left if it off for a few minutes then restarted it and everything was fine
