hi
this is my first run of a brand new buyed sony,.. now i wonder!!!
i want to upgrade my vaio rx402 with more ram and another harddisk!
so why is it prohibished to open the case?
i've ever made changes to the current hardware configuration,.. think it's a normal thing. what when i want to update my graphics,.. whats about a better network adapter or further hardware?
i'm verry, verry anoyed!!!
The reason why Sony (in fact all manufacturers) have this policy is to prevent people from messing around with the hardware and then trying to get the manufacturer to repair damage done under warranty.
The manufacturer cannot afford to pay for the mistakes of everyone out there.
If you have a burning desire to upgrade any hardware and maintain your warranty, then you must get Sony or a Sony Certified shop to do the upgrade for you.
I agree with EZ.
Manufacturers cannot afford to fix users mistakes/desires.
But having said that, if you know a good IT techie person, then there is no harm in getting tehm to do it, or if you're the good IT techie, doing it yourself.
Just remember the magic words.... Warranty Void
sure,.. i agree!
but it issn't so that i want to pick an isa-card, cut some stuff and clean-strike that thing in a agp-port
for sure there must be fronteers, a ca. deffinition what is a it techi f.e.!
case: i buy an amplifier,.. pretty good thing - but its forbidden to plug loudspeaker if its not done by the manufacturer or a trained technical personnel! to be silent completely thinking to attach an equaliser from xy!
an pc is a daily utensil.
give him a quater year in std configuration and you pray to god that any application runs faster!
i think that the manufacturer should decide from case to case if the warranty was broken. it's not ok that she expires after opening the case!
only thing i've wanted to do, ist to increase the ram and build in another hd!
new stuff from specialist dealer and no units from outer space.
by the way,.. i wish to buy coverings for my seats! schould ask volkswagen for inserting them
thanks for friendly replying :: pretty good community!
