Can anyone help with a wireless problem? My wireless connection suddenly went down. The problem doesn't seem to be my BT Home Hub because I can connect via ethernet and the lights are all on. When I tried to connect to the Home Hub via wireless through the BT disk, it told me that the PCI wireless adapter was missing or unplugged. What is this?
Also, when I tried to reconnect or create a new wireless connection through VAIO Smart Network, my only choices for new connections are modem and LAN.
The wireless switch on the front of the laptop is on. I'm not sure what else to do. Help!
Hi Norfolk Visitor and welcome to Club Vaio.
Which model Vaio do you have? The Wireless Adapter and the Wireless Switching method is different in differing models.
Check in Control Panel -> Device Manager -> Network Adapters. Is your wireless adapter shown as being installed and working correctly?
Have you tried a System Restore to a time before the problem appeared?

Hi Blencogo. Thanks for responding.
The wireless started working again the next morning. I did check the device manager after reading your post anyway, and both the network adapters are working properly. Is there anything I can do if this happens again? Maybe it was the wireless device and not the laptop.
The laptop is a VGN-NR10E.
