I have two days that all my S1 , S2 and Fn buttons do not work.
I have a VGN-FS215s laptop and I don't know how to fix this problem.
Right this is easy to fix.
Just visit VAIO-Link and then download the Preinstalled Utilities Package.
Once you have done that, run the program. Then navigate to C:\UTILS and run UTILS.EXE to fix the problem.
Restart your computer and the hotkeys system (FN/S1/S2 etc) will then work.
James - I don’t think that this model has the Utils.exe function, just a number of Utils Installer directories. In which case you need to re-install Sony Utilities and Sony Shared Library, in that order.
You should find a number of Utils installer directories, numbered 1 to 11, at C:\Utils, if not then download the Pre-installed Utilities Package from Vaio Link as James suggests.
Utils Installer 1 contains the Sony Utilities and Utils Installer 2 the Sony Shared Library. Run the Setup executable in each directory.
D'Oh!
Typical - Sony changes their format of installer.
I really don’t understand why Sony can’t stick to one format:smileyconfused:
Why change a habit of a lifetime?
ROFL
Kee-Lo you went straight for the jugular there, the same as when you asked if they will be ditching Java in the forum software.
