Mouse speed

I have a USB mouse connected to my laptop and I want to make the pointer speed faster.

When I go into Mouse Properties it only shows settings for my 'Alps Pointing device' - the onboard mousepad.

How can I display settings for my USB mouse?

Under Mouse Properties (in control panel) do you not have a Pointer Options tab with a Motion – ‘Select a pointer Speed’ slider bar? This adjusts the speed of the USB mouse on my system

When you installed your USB mouse did you load any drivers..?

I havent loaded any drivers. Windows automatically detected it as a Logitech USB mouse.

Do I need to install Logitech Mouseware in order to adjust the speed?

I installed the drivers etc for my MS Wireless Notebook Optical mouse and I now have both sets of options in my mouse properties..

If you install the Logitech Mouseware be careful you do not loose the touchpad utility though..
