How to check for warranty?

I'm planning on buying a Sony Vaio VPCEB3S1E/BQ.EE9, but i'm not sure it has a warranty. Is there any way to check, before buying it, if it has a warranty, via a serial number or something? I don't want to buy it and find out it is stolen or anything like that, and not be able to fix it in case of a brake-down.

You could try contacting Vaio support unfortunately you can not phone them without a serial number however there is an email address in this thread that you could try and see if you get a reply.
