formatting discs

can someone help? i have pcv-rs224 and need help to format discs as certain ones dont work. example tdk dvdr i can record with but not dvd+rw . also i can only record on phillips cdrs but not others nashua for example. help !!

You only need to format RW media if you're going to use packet writing
