Hi everybody !
I have an Sony Vaio VPCF13Z8E/BI with Windows 7 preinstalled and I made upgrade to Windows 8, but I do not find two drivers:
1. Base System Device : PCI bus 3, device 0, function 1.
2. Unknow device : Intel(R) PM55 Express Chipset LPC Interface Controller - 3B03
Somebody can help me ?
Thank you very much !
Hi dansimon65 and welcome to the Sony Users Community.
As you will have already discovered, Sony do not support Windows 8 on your model. Consequently, they do not provide drivers for Windows 8.
The Base System Device is probably the SD/MC Card slot and you will need to try the Ricoh Drivers supplied for Windows 7 and see if they will install.
The LPC Interface Controller is Sony's SFEP (Sony Firmware Extension Parser) driver and you can try to install the driver supplied by Sony for Windows 7 and see if it works.
If these do not work you may need to look at a similar model released with Windows installed and try to find updated MemoryCard and SFEP drivers.
Thank you for you kindness !
Thank you!
On my old VPCEA490X, with Windows 10,
I used this driver for memory card reader:
RIDMSC-00226903-0042.EXE
which took care of the unknown device:
Base System Device
And, SFEP (Sony Firmware Extension Parser) driver:
SODOTH-00224384-0042.EXE
for
Unknown device, PCI bus 3, device 0, function 1
