Hi, i bought a Vaio S , VGN-S3HP a while ago but after a few monthes of having it , just outside of the warranty it became unusable. constanly i experience crashes where the computer freezes completly and has to be reset and restarted. it happens on startup, in the Bios, when windows has loaded practically any time at all after a very short period of having it on and running.
has anyone else experienced this or has any ideas why this could be happening?
ive taken it to countless computer repair shops and nobody can seem to find the root cause of the problem.Sony have offered that if i pay a large sum of money to fix it and try to rectify the problem but considereing the amount ive already spent on it I may as well buy a brand new laptop. Im beggining to think there is a hardware problem as i have used th eVaio recovery many times and formatted my harddrive before too.
Any help or ideas on how i could fix this would be great.
Thanks very much.

Nope nothing at all has been changed as it hasnt been in use hardly at all, no error messages occur and the laptop just simply freezes. ive wondered if a problem with the hardware could be causing it to over heat maybe? when running from being off for a while and is cool i can get it to run for around 5 mins but as soon as it warms up its hard to reach a minute of use
tbh the compter shops i think tend to worry more so if its a virus affecting it lol
taking into account the computers core temperature can this cause the laptop to freeze if it gets too hot?
Thanks.

not sure but its definatly getting hot quickly.
i know how to check but the Vaio has a custom Bios and doesnt display the core temp like on a PC
any ideas on how to view the normal Bios?
And thankyou i didnt think to do that ill give it a try.
Anyone know any other common causes of crashing and freezing that is hardware related?
thanks.
