Blu Ray Region

Hi guys, I see lot of people is suffering problems with the region and the blu ray player, and I am one another.

Today, and after having yesterday installed the BD-dvd firmware and the win dvd BD updates, I am triying to play for the first time my new blu ray film into my new VGN-AR11S. I have bougt the notebook and BD in Spain.

The win DVD-BD says I have to play the BD film into a player of region B.

I have installed the latests updates.

I have tried to restore the system to yesterday, 2 and 3 days ago but there is a window that says it´s imposible to restore.

Any suggestions??.

Thank you

Hi jurvis and welcome to Club Vaio.

Did it work before the Updates?

Your BD Drive should be Region B (Europe, Greenland, French territories, Middle East, Africa, Australia and New Zealand).

Right-Click on the drive in Device Manager and check the region code - it should be B for blu-ray and 2 for DVDs (The Middle East, Western Europe, Central Europe, Egypt, French overseas territories, Greenland, Japan, Lesotho, South Africa and Swaziland).

You did download European Updates?

Hi,

I´m nort very sure where to see the region of my BD player.

I have gone to My PC, right click on CD-DVD player, propierties and it´s says MATSHITA BD-MLT UJ-210S, and after that manufacturer: standar cd drivers; location 0(0).

If location is region it´s supposed to be 0(0).

I downloaded all the software updates from VAIO offcial site.

If I misunderstood where to find the region please let me know because I can´t believe that my BD player is not for the european region.

Thanks

Try

Start -> Right Click on My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager

Find your Drive and double-click on it.

Is there a tab for DVD Region or BD Region? If so, click on it. What Region is shown?

Thanks,

The DVD region is 2, but there is no information about BD region, no taps.
