STR-DN1010 won't work with HDMI

Hi

First of all, sorry my bad english, its not my first language:)

My dad has bought a new amp. for allmost 3 weeks ago.  We have just connected our dvd-player, and the amp in HDMI-1 input.

As it is now, we have to enter HTMI-1 input to get audio and video through, but our wish is, that we can choose DVD-input, and then see the movie, but if we choose DVD-input now, we don't hear or see anything.

We have tried, to go to the GUI, then selected DVD, pushed "settings/options" on the remote control, then chosen "input assign", and then marked HDMI-3, and go out of the GUI, but it still dosn't work.

Does any of you have any ideas ? Is there something wrong with our product, or is it us, doing something wrong ?
