Sony Bravia no sound from RF input?

I have virgin tivo box with SCART to RF converter. The RF signal is then boosted to another room via coaxial cable. I can get perfect picture but no sound. Connecting other devices via hdmi and the sound is fine. Played with every conceivable setting to no avail.
