Sadly, Sony keep on selling TVs with a miserable internet browser and an immature OS.
Hi there
The web-browser on the TV is not meant to replace a computer as well as its not meant to stream video from it either.
Without knowing the model of your TV, its hard to advise further.
Cheers
@Anonymous The TV is a KD-43XD8305. I do not know what you mean by "replacing a computer with a web-browser". All I am trying to do is to use the Opera browser that comes with the TV to ... browse URL contents. This is what a browser is supposed to be used for. As it turns out, Opera for Android TV is full of bugs. Thus, for instance, it does not open Digital Concert Hall links through the DCH app (please, see https://forums.opera.com/discussion/1876941/opera-for-android-tv-does-not-open-links-to-digital-concert-hall-dch-contents-through-the-dch-app). Instead, it opens DCH links in new tabs and than does a miserable job in rendering those links. The KD-43XD8305 could have been a nice device: it is a shame that Sony has loaded it with unusable software which, on the top of it, cannot be uninstalled or even deactivated. This is an insult to customers and the main reason why my blu-ray player will not be a Sony: no more Sony products in my house until Sony releases a meaningful upgrade of their Android TV implementation. The current one (6.0.1) simply sucks.
