KDL-46HX853 - Simultaneous audio output - Headphones and HiFi

I want to connect my Bravia KDL-46HX8653 via HDMI to 5ch HiFi as well as connecting via the Optical Link out the back of the TV to a DAC Amplifier to a Wireless Headset.

My question is this.. If I am connected via HDMI can I get confirmation that there is ALSO output coming from the Optical Out at the same time?

If you plug in a headphone to the TV directly it lkills the HDMI return signal and I dont want to buy a DAC if it wont work?

Hi markolarkos,

I don't think the TV supports outputting sound through HDMI and Optical at the same time, it will be one or the other as it was not intended to function that way, especially with adding a device (DAC) in the mix which makes this a bit of an unusual set up.

If the question was about using the DAC only (taking out the double output part of it) I would have said that it might work.
