KDL-40S4000 Auto-Dim

Hi,

Is there a way to disable the auto-dimming feature on the S4000? It's incredibly intrusive. I know this a well documented problem on many models, but can't find any info relating to my set. I know it's an old model now... Is there a way around it on my set or is there no hope for my tv?

I can avoid the issue by streaming media through my Xbox using a component cable. Though, it would be nice to be able to use my HDMIs effectively without auto-dim butchering my images.
