KDL-37EX401 Sony Logo at start up.

I have had the KDL-37EX401  for a couple of years and found it to be a very reliable TV

-- does everything we want it to.

BUT there is one very annoying point -- that I have seen on no other Sony TV

-- Correct me if I am wrong --

When turning the set on  you always get a "Bing-Bong" sound and the Sony logo.

My son on his larger TV don't get this and we don't get it on the smaller on in the bedroom..

Any ideas how to de-activate this -- as it is very annoy if you want to turn the TV on at night -- and not disturb anyone!!

on the tv remote go to HOME scroll left to DISPLAY scroll down to SOUND scroll down to KEY TONE press centre button on remote and switch off or on, this should solve your issue this works for the 32" version of this set

We looked at every menu option on the HOME button and there was no KEY TONE option so I am afraid that this was not sucessfull --- this time at least

just found that the model is KDL-37EX401

Software version 8.717

Perhaps that will make a difference???
