I have just purchased LED backlights for my 40" Sony Bravia TV.
When plugged into either USB port the lights flash continually. This does not happen when plugged into other TV`s or a USB wall charger.
Is this something I can change?

The LED backlight is 100cm long with 60 white LEDs.
As far as I can tell from the unclear instructions the lights
require 5v@1amp which means from your reply that the TV
cannot supply the necessary power.
Is this peculiar to Sony as the lights work well on other TVs. (Samsung and Logik).
Hi @hollywood1939. The rating is printed next to the USB port. My KD-55XE9305 has three ports, two are marked as 5V 500mA (2.5W) and a third 5V 900mA HDD (4.5W).

Thanks again.
I have now managed to visibly access the two USB ports.
They each show 5v x 500mA whereas the LEDs specify 5v x 1 amp. No doubt this
is causing the flashing problem. I am looking at a Y adaptor to connect both USB sockets to the lights.
Hopefully this will cure the problem.

I have now obtained a USB splitter and this has solved the problem.
Thanks to all who responded to my query.
