The built in opera browser says "you tried to access the address http://rd1.sony.net/tv1/ which is currently unavailable." I've done a factory reset and have the latest firmware. http://rd1.sony.net/tv1/ redirects to sony.net on my laptop.
Hi,
This is an old default website that no longer exists and now redirects to sony.net. Just type any other URL in the address line to use the browser.
Cheers
Peter
How do i enter a URL? There's no button for entering a URL.
Thanks
Chris
use the remote to move the cursor up until the address bar appears where you can enter a url
So what is the fix for this?
Is it now a piece of expensive electronic equpment which Sony have disabled from their end?
it does not have the functionality to do this. The only possible options are links to Opera
Hey @pauljr
Have you tried refreshing internet content? Home > Settings > Network > Refresh Internet Content
Also, you can try connecting your TV to a different connection (like a mobile hotspot, for example)
Of course, it was one of the first things I tried after discovering the problem. I have also completed a factory reset and checked for updates. The issue is the browser has a fixed address which Sony have closed. I've tried connecting to it on my PC. It no longer exists. i.e. Sony have shut the function down.
Just navigate the cursor using the up, down, left and right arrows on your remote to position the cursor within the
URL address bar. Use the delete key from the onscreen keyboard to delete the Sony URL, use the keyboard to enter
a search term for the browser page(s) you want to navigate to.
There is no navigation function and no URL address bar (as has been stated previously) The URL is 'hard coded' and because it doesn't exist just gives an error message. The back button does nothing so there appears to be no way of changing it.
Scrolling the page only allows the alternative choice of Opera help as also clearly stated before.
Repeating duff advice will not fix it!
