Xperia L1 - external microphone

I'd like to use an external mic on my L1. My Rode Lavalier doesn't work in the headphone socket. Any suggestions to either make that work or to use the USB port? Thanks.

Hey there, any 3.5mm jack in an external microphone should be detected as an audio device, however I found there are no compatible external mics in the related products section for the Xperia L1 on the website, guess you'll need to have test runs at a store to make sure it'll work.
